I was thrilled to do research on flood risks in my village through a special program for Sri Lankan teachers! As a teacher, I was lucky to get a chance to do a research. During my research, I was guided by Mr. Nishchitha Etige from Boston University in the USA. I deeply appreciate their unwavering support.
I had the amazing opportunity to do action research on "Enhancing Higher Order Thinking Skills in a Sri Lankan English Medium Instruction Science Classroom" as part of my CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) certification course. This research helped me find new ways to support students in thinking critically and deeply in a bilingual classroom.
I was thrilled when my research paper was chosen as the Best Paper in Education at a prestigious event. This recognition inspired me and strengthened my passion for teaching and helping students grow.
As a teacher, I feel lucky to have had this chance to do research. It showed me how powerful research can be in improving learning and making a real difference in the classroom.
